eVantageHealth provides enhanced security measures ensuring patient’s personal health information remains protected.

eVantageHealth, LLC complies with all Federal and state privacy laws, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act, which are designed to protect your health information. These laws require that patient’s health information be kept secure both while it is being emailed or sent through a computer, and while it is at a health provider’s office.

eVantageHealth provides enhanced security measures through audit logs, access controls, user authentication and data encryption. Audit logs identify and record anyone accessing patient records through eVantageHealth. Paper records do not provide this level of security. Access controls ensure that only those individuals with a need to know see clinical data are granted access.

eVantageHealth requires multiple levels of authentication and technological safeguards health care providers must meet, including personal security passwords and security questions, security tokens, and encryptions. This ensures only medical professionals who are approved eVantageHealth Participants have accounts and a permissible need to see clinical data.

Patients can choose to prohibit sharing their Personal Health Information (PHI) through eVantageHealth by completing a process referred to as Opting-out. Opting-out will prevent Participating Providers of eVantageHealth and its Authorized Users from viewing PHI, but the patient will still have access to view their PHI stored in eVantageHealth by logging into eVantageHealth Personal Health Record.
