Wound care is about quality of life. The certified wound specialists and experienced nursing staff at St. Luke's Wound Management Centers understand and work with each patient for the best results possible for chronic or non-healing wounds as the result of diabetes, immobilization or circulatory problems. Some of the wounds treated include diabetic ulcers, pressure sores, venous and arterial wounds, traumatic and surgical wounds, wounds requiring hyperbaric treatment and minor burns.
The Allentown Campus wound center boasts a brand-new facility with experienced staff. Specialists are trained to heal non-healing wounds in a team approach that includes board-certified general surgeons, trauma surgeons, vascular and plastic surgeons, infectious disease physicians, podiatrists and certified wound, ostomy and continence nurses.
Patients may refer themselves if they have a wound that has shown no significant improvement in 2 weeks or has failed to completely heal in 4 weeks. Patients should also work with family physicians or other specialists for referrals.
